Château Le Cagnard, Haut-de-Cagnes (Cagnes-sur-Mer), French Riviera

Haut-de-Cagnes is a medieval semi-pedestrian village located in the heart of the French Riviera, 20 minutes from Nice airport, 20 km from Cannes, 35 km from Monaco, and just 5 km from St-Paul-de-Vence. Its name, « Le Cagnard, » means « sun » in Provençal and its history is closely linked to that of Château Grimaldi, which sits on the square of the ancient village and dates back to the 14th century.

History is felt everywhere in this beautiful residence: the arched « Salle des Gardes » retains the medieval heritage of this building, when knights protected the village and its castle.
